This is an actual Capital One number but it's spoofed. The caller claimed to be calling from experian credit and wanted to 'verify' my social security number.

I called back to capital one to ask what happened, as I received a call from this same number and the person had my name but was calling about a VISA and I do not have a visa, I have a capital one account but when I called them, they verified and the call was made but was not meant to be for me. The automatic system now does telemarketing calls and stuff like that

Apparently a solicitor for Capital One banking. Did not leave a message, but my phone's Caller ID confirmed "Capital One". We do not have any relationship with that entity.

Middle eastern accent who didn’t introduce himself informing me that experian has been monitoring my balances over the last few months and that i qualified for a lower interest rate since i never missed any payments. He didn’t address my name to confirm me though. Then he asked how much do i think i owed in total. If experian is monitoring me they can sum that up. Told him i didn’t need it and he hung up immediately. Caller id as capital one. DON’T EVER GIVE OUT YOUR INFO. Spammer can fake their ID and numbers from a legitimate company

I got the same call today. He asked me what my balance was on the card, and I told him if he truly worked for Capital One he would have that information in front of him as he was lowering my interest rate. Then he hung up.

No idea if it was legit or not. He didn’t ask me for any personal demographic or financial information and before he could get to that point I told him I was headed into a meeting. He asked if he could call back and I told him I would have to call him back and asked for him number. I did this so I could investigate on sites like this first… He gave me a call back number of 202-888-6058 x. 1125, said his name was Daniel Bryan. As with a few others, he said he was with Experian and could get my interest rate down to 6%. I can’t find anything to justify it’s NOT a scam so I won’t be calling him back.

The guy calling said he was calling from Capital One and that a charge had been made in another state on my credit card and he asked me if I made the charge and I told him no, then he proceeds to ask for me for my credit card number which then threw up a red flag. If he is calling me from Capitol One then he should know my card number and only ask me to verify what he has for the last 4 numbers of my card. I played dumb and asked him to tell me again where he was calling from and what type of credit card he was calling about (Visa, Mastercard,etc). He couldn't answer me and told me that since I couldn't verify my information that they were going to let the charge go through on my card and I told him do it and see what happens and he hung up on me.
