About
Who are we
The company behind these pages and the project is Mister Group ltd. Our company consists of small but very agile team composed of programmers, data administrators, designers and security specialists. Main part of the team is located in the heart of Czech Republic (which is… in fact… located in the heart of the Europe) – near the second biggest city of CR, Brno. The distributed part of the company, especially the localization people, are volunteers and professionals from different countries.
There are two main persons in the lead, co-owners of the company: developer Miroslav Topolar and data administrator Michal Kolisek. The history of the company reaches back to 1990’ when these two gentlemen started to cooperate on software for 8-bits computers. The variety of applications was large, but the first security application System Explorer started back in 2007. From that time the company concentrates generally on providing more secure ways how to use the clever things around us.
The company was officially listed in the Business Register in January 2015 – here is the link (sorry, in Czech only) https://or.justice.cz/ias/ui/rejstrik-firma.vysledky?subjektId=885483&typ=PLATNY
Our mission
As many others (but not exactly like the others) we try to make the world a bit safer place to live. We concentrate on computers of daily life and use, either personal computers or the smart phones. Especially smart phone is still hard to understand for a lot of users, but easy to misuse for some others.
We have gained the first experience on our own few years ago. Our friends and people around us started to be bothered by telemarketing calls, which were rapidly raising in our country those days. Some of our friends even lost their money because of these telemarketing scams! So we decided to do something about it – and that’s the story about how the Should I Answer app was born.
Our goal is to make our smart devices friendlier to regular users, so they should serve exactly the purpose the users want them to - not to the purpose the other dark side tries to force us. Telemarketing, number spoofing, unsolicited calls… all such activities are in our radar, and we try every day with all the possible powers to make them behave within legal boundaries. Well, if they don’t listen, here we are to give you the power to stop them using you smart device, doesn’t matter if operating on Android or iOS.
About the project
Our aim is your security. This project consists of two main parts – these pages providing information about phone numbers, and mobile phone applications. Afraid of unknown numbers? You don’t have to be. With a little help of modern technologies, spam calls won’t be a problem anymore. The Should I Answer app warns you against all kinds of unwanted calls. And if you like, it could block them completely.
How does it work?
The Should I Answer app uses a unique database of (almost) all spam and telemarketing calls ever made. It consists of numbers reported to Do Not Call Registry, numbers reported to Federal Communication Commission and of all community reviews from our users, written either from the Should I Answer App and/or from our website. The last but not least source of information are the anonymous statistics combined from unknown numbers reports and their usage, collected from the users of our applications and from our pages where people search for some specific number. Then later those data are processed by our administrators and completed by reviews written by them from available resources – our admins do the research for you on regular basis, trying to dig every piece of information possible. Daily, the database grows by 30 000 new reviews. Thanks to you - take for granted that we don’t sell any data to any 3rd party, just consider that to be able to react on the same basis as the telemarketers are using new numbers, if you allow us to (there is a switch in the app) our application stores data about numbers unknown to you (not statistics about your Contact numbers) calling during the day and when you connect to our server the app sends those data as anonymous statistics - just the unknown number and number of calls is sent.
How can we protect you?
Over the years we have found out that the only (and the best) protection against spam calls is a community exchanging real experience. On this page, users can share their information about bad numbers. Which means – the first line of protection is the information value of our pages and the community database of numbers. Sometimes the data displayed may look brief (sorry for that, it could take a time to gain more than just boring statistics, but you – the users – are helping us greatly with this), but also a brief information has its value when it is on the right place in the right time.
The second line then is our application in your mobile phone. Whenever an unknown number calls, the app runs a search in the database locally stored in your device (yes, it works also off-line, to get the statistics – for reading the reviews of other users you must be connected to the internet, but just if you want to). If we have any info for that number the app will provide you with the data right away. Or, if you have set it so the app can block all the unwanted calls before you even notice it is calling.
The Should I Answer app is an ultimate protection against all kinds of spam calls – and it’s all thanks to your reviews and participation. Thank you!
How is the service paid?
We try to keep as much of the project for free as possible. There is a difference between the Android and the iOS worlds, sorry for that, we just hope that the companies will change that in some near future. Android system is more open and our app can cooperate more with the Android users, providing them with direct ways how to help and contribute to this project. Also the Android development is much cheaper because the open world around this operating system.
On the other hand the iOS is very limited in what we can do on Apple devices. The development for iOS is much more expensive, users from this area are not able to help us in sharing the information among the community in the same flexible way comparing the Android users, even the Apple account is payed. These are the reasons some parts of the iOS application might be payed.
Please check the respective Google Play and iTunes store pages with our apps.
- Ads are displayed on our web pages
- Anyone can give us a voluntary contribution – donation to the project. For this purpose, there are three donation levels (bronze, silver and gold), and one donation app. This one does nothing, but if you buy it, it will add icon to your desktop and… send us the donation.
Where can the application(s) be downloaded?
Please check the main page of the project, us.shouldianswer.net – you will find a link for both apps there.
