Woman with indian accent called, said fraudulent activity on my acct. The phone said incoming Citibank call. She asked for my first and last name. Said fraud was from Indonesia. Asked which device do I use more to log in to my acct...told her desktop. She said do not log in. Then asked if im near desk top to log in. I said you just told me not to log in and now you say log in. I said iI bet your fraud and she hung up.

I don't know what to think of this. I was told there was a fraudulent charge on my Citibank account for $1,400. It told me to press one if I did not authorize this. I pressed one and I immediately got connected to a person (with an Indian accent). He knew my last name and he asked if I am authorizing this charge. I told him NO and I did not know I had a Citibank account. Obviously, someone created the account in my name. He said that it was possible and he would deny the charge and close the account. That was it. He did not ask for anything or try to sell me anything. I did not know what to think.

Just had the same event. I was going to give my name and then stopped there and told the indian fellow on the line that I will call citibank directly. Citibank line said that is not their number, and I don't have a fraudulent charge.

I had to call this number back and initially it sounds very legitimate, but I went in knowing this was most likely a scam call. Automated answer, I could either voice activate or touch by keypad. The automated voice asked me to enter either my SS#, my Bank Account #, my Credit Card #, and possibly something else. Red Flags went up immediately! Once a live person answered, they asked for the same thing. I told her I did not have a bank account, my credit card was not on me, and I did not feel comfortable giving my social security number out. She then asked for "just the last four numbers". Again, I refused, and at this point I just hung up and called the number on the back of my credit card and that's when I found out this was a scam call.

Answered call on cell phone, which was followed by a recorded message that my credit card was found to have a $1499 fraudulent charge on it, and that I needed to press 1 to get more info. I hung up immediately and called the real CitiBank directly to confirm that this was a scam.

I was called by this number telling me it was CitiBank and I had a charge for $1490 from Indonesia. Initially I was suspicious when they wanted me to download an app that would give them control of my computer. I hung up and typed in "Citibank Fraud" on Google and wouldn't you know, this is the number that popped up telling me to call CitiBank. http://www.citibank.com/domain/online_scams.htm#:~:text=If%20you%20suspect%20that%20you,fraud%2C%20visit%20our%20Security%20center. So I assumed I had made a mistake. They called me back, and for a few minutes I stupidly went along with it. They actually had control of my computer and I had the Citi account open. But she was trying to change my security settings and was telling me that she was going to give me an email address to send a confirmation to. That email address was a Yahoo email. So I told them if it was Citi, why would we be using a personal email. I hung up the phone again and they could be seen trying to still control the computer so I disabled that as well. I eventually got through to a legitimate Citi Customer Rep who confirmed there was 1. no charges on my card 2. no documentation of anyone calling me from Citi to report anything. I went ahead and cancelled the card and changed my passwords for my accounts. If only their gifts could be used for good instead of evil!

Their caller ID says citibank. Their phone tree when you call them back sounds a LOT like the actual Citi phone tree. It is NOT citi. I called Citi via the number on my card and they confirmed 1) no calls to me 2) no suspected fraud activity. The call I received claimed there was a charge of $1498 on my card.

just recieved a call from this number saying there was an attempt to deduct $1400 from Indonesia---smelled very fishy. I hung up and called the customer svc number on the back of my card and found there was no such charge. Definite SCAM !!!

I received a call that comes up on my phone as from "Citibank". Automated voice says there is a $1410 charge that is flagged as fraud, press "1" to speak with a customer service representative. CS Rep knew my name and state of residence, asked if I had shared my password with anyone, said there was a charge from Indonesia and that my account was compromised and to NOT log in to the account. I asked him to confirm the last 4 digits of my account. He said "let me look that up" and then hung up on me.
