Fake Fraud protection (Scam call) reported by


Caller identified themselves from a fraud protection agency calling about possible fraudulent charges on my credit card. They had called my work number, gave the name of the financial institution I have a card with, but gave me the names of people who lived at my house years before me. Smells like a scam. I get email and text notifications on all charges made on my accounts/cards and they usually contact me by the same means or my cell if there are issues. Checked online and there was no pending charges on my card, either.

Called on a Saturday morning to ask if I had just used my debit card to withdraw cash from my checking account. It had been an ATM withdrawal 600 miles from my home. No, I had not. The caller claimed to represent a security service working on behalf of my credit union. At first I was wary, but they asked for no personal identifiers and advised me to file a fraud report ASAP with my credit union. I did so and was issued a new debit card with a different number.

My credit union said Yes, this company legit for many Credit Unio (Financial services) reported by


Called my credit union to verify if this # was legitimate and if I needed to call them back. The credit union resolved the questions they had, and verified this caller is a company who does inquiries for many credit unions. They do use them when there has been questionable activity on your account. They only ask to verify your pin and will go over some recent charges or transfers. Otherwise the card could be frozen until verification. If you feel uneasy just call your own credit union direct.

LEGITIMATE call to verify recent credit card activity charged to my Debit/MasterCard account. Very professional. You WILL NOT be required to provide your credit card information. Just confirm your identity and telephone number as it appears on your Clearview FCU account. You will then provide your case number and the Security Center representative will review any suspicious credit card activity and how to proceed.
