I missed their call and called back, prepared not to share too much in case of a scam, but all they needed was my phone number and the case number they had told me to reference in the voicemail they left. They were checking on a transfer I had done from my bank and did not ask for social, card or account info. Seemed very professional and legitimate

They verified i tried to purchase something the night before-card had been declined (they gave me name of website and amount) and asked if i had been forced to do so, then said i was good. I am glad of this as it was a large charge and i have been victim of my card being hacked in the past. I would of been suspicious if they had asked for dob or ss#-that i would not have given and would of called bank instead.

They left me a voicemail about potentially fraud charges on my card. I called them back gave them just my name. That wasn't enough, they wanted my phone number, address, last 4 of my social security number. Nope it's Saturday at almost 5pm. I'll call my Credit Union Monday directly and see what is going on. Do not give out your information to people!

Received an email From PenFed with this phone number listing four recent purchases though the most recent was one where my card was declined. So I called and they did say the charge and asked me to confirm along with my last four SSN the last four of my bank account, phone number and birthday.

Called from BECU- wanted to verify that a large charge on my credit card was made by me (it was) and that I wasn't being forced to do it against my will. It's a legit number. The number is also listed on a pdf form from BECU's website titled 'FAQ's surrounding VISA and ATM Card Compromises' "BECU partners with a 3rd party who performs fraud monitoring on our behalf for both Visa and MasterCard. You may receive a call from 888.918.7313, 727.299.2449 or 888.241.2440 attempting to verify activity on your account. Please note that this is a valid call and our attempt to contact you regarding suspicious account activity."

Fraud Dept. I only gave them my name, they read off my address, card number, listed most recent transaction amounts. I had logged into my credit union website while on hold so I could see recent transactions and numbers matched. Said I had a $1.50 charge in a state far away from me. I confirmed it was fraud. They said they cancelled my card but I have to call my credit union to get a new one ordered. I wondered why I had to call but understand now as they seem to work for several credit unions.
