Claims they are a third party security department working in conjunction with Addition Financial concerning suspicious activity. This credit union calls before they allow any suspect debit card charges to go through not after. He asked to confirm my social. I won't give that out to anyone. He had no other way to confirm my information and told me t contact my bank instead. That is not how the bank handles these matters The bank say this is a spoof call.

At first, I was skeptical, so I let the call go to voicemail, but after listening to the call, I realized this is a third-party company that works with my bank, and they detected fraudulent activity on my purchase record. Luckily, I called them back and the activity they detected was a purchase I made, so no harm was done. Be aware, they will ask you to verify the last 4 digits of the card, the last 4 of your social, and the mailing address on your bank account, as well as the phone number you are calling from, and if you were forced against your will to make a purchase. If this number calls you, answer it, or call them back.

Legit 3rd party company following up on a transaction I made that was unusual for me (out of country). My own CU did not have info about this service but another CU (becu.org) has info they put out with this specific number noted as a safe number to receive calls from on their behalf. That made me more comfortable and I was willing to call them back. Like others have said, they only asked for my phone number and case number, asked about the purchase, and if I was forced or coerced into purchasing. No other details about my account, no personal info other than my name. Safe number to call.

Just got a call from that number today. Didn’t call them back directly but call the number on the back of my card. It was true. Someone from across the country was trying to use my card fraudulently. They blocked it. Now I have to get a new card but I’m really glad they caught it in time.

I got a call from this number and they left a message stating that they were the fraud department of my credit union. They gave me a case # and this phone # to call back. I was leary, but called. Listened to their recording and hung up before I got an agent. I then called my credit union and told them I had received a call/message regarding fraud on my account. They verified that there had been a fraud flag on one of my recent charges and transferred me to their fraud department. It was the very same record I heard when I called this number. They did not ask for my bank account number, but verified information in other ways. They told me the charge (amount, date, vendor) and asked if it was a valid attempt (it had declined). They were professional and friendly. They even verified a fraud flag from a couple months back that I didn't realize I had. It was also a valid attempt which had declined.

I made a phone purchase at Boost Mobile, and like a minute after the purchase I received a call from (727) 572-8822, I didn’t pick it up, they left a message and told me to call back at a different number (888) 918-7313 with a case number. After looking up the number and reading this thread, I decided to call them back. A person answered ( American) and asked for my phone number and my case number. She named the purchase item and the price, and asked me did I make this purchase and was I forced to make this purchase. I confirmed the purchase and price, and she said okay, the card is unblocked you can go ahead and use it. It seems legit from PSCU financial institute.

Wasn't sure if they were a scam so I called my bank and was transferred to them. Seems like they handle fraud for a bunch of credit unions. They caught someone using my card numbers and helped me cancel the card and dispute the charges.

Legitimate. Received voicemail stating fraudulent activity on my account. I did not call the # back, I called my bank directly and they confirmed the message and caller were legitimate, there had been a fraudulent attempt to use my card#. They are canceling and reissuing my card.

They called, left me case number information and claimed my card has had fraudulent activity. Said "we work with multiple credit unions". Called my Bank's actual number to verify that this number wasn't affiliated with them and they confirmed that they were not. This is a very elaborate scam, do not give them any of your information. If you did, make sure to immediately let your bank know and follow their advice on next steps.

They called my call and stated my name, said they (Norfolk Community Federal Credit Union) were calling on behalf of my credit union and that my card was blocked and I needed to call them to unlock it. I called my bank immediately, they said they have never heard of this company and that my card wasn't locked. My bank handles all the fraud/suspicious stuff directly so it was weird to me. Even the 'case number' was suspicious lol "0102". It's clearly some scammers spoofing a legitimate fraud protection company so that when people Google the number/company they see other people saying it's real. Always call your bank first in these situations.

Robo call asking for your phone number to call you back, letter from credit union stating they don't have a valid phone number to reach me. I called the bank directly and they are intercepting calls and asking for phone number and card number to verify who you are. FRAUD ALERT!! Check your accounts!
