Never accept calls or deal with anyone claiming to be connected to Microsoft, HP or other security/maintenance outfits if you haven't initiated the call. These are scams to separate you from your hard earned $$$. No one of this sort has a connection (unless you have let them in) to your computer and manufacturers don't call customers unless you have called them first. These types of calls can lead to ID theft, Ransomeware attacks, and at the very least unnecessary expenditure forwhat ever service they provide and probably a link to your computer when they are done. If you are experiencing computer problems call a certified known local tech or tech savvy friend for assistance. Best to just not answer or hangup immediately upon ascertaining who they are! Don't be fooled by slick talking scam artists

Google has this number listed as HP Customer Support when you search it, but this is not HP. I was connected with someone who quickly told me that my problem would cost $850 to fix. When I said, no way, he said, oh let me check with my boss to see if we can do for cheaper. Came back with $400. Felt sleazy. Can't imagine real HP would act like that. Also, if you're curious, Google the number...seems like other people are getting scammed by this number too.

they claimed to be from HP and that I was having issues with my HP computer, but I know HP would not call me in this fashion and also I haven't used an HP computer in years.

Called 5 times within 24 hrs. States they are hp,with thick accent tells me my computer has malware and is at risk. (This us usually where I go off) have contacted the real HP who does not do drop calls like this whatsoever. They know they are being spoofed, but cannot stop it.
