Recorded Message caller stated she was Jessica was with HP Care, and that I would have a package delivered on "In-Car" delivery on 11th of May 2021. (Indian accent, possibly a call center) Neither my wife nor I have ever heard of HP Care, and we have not placed any orders with HP Care.

He said his name was Mike (in a heavy foreign accent) and said he was with Medicare insurance, He asked me if I had back pain and how bad was it. Then he asked if I had Medicare. (He already said he from Medicare insurance when he first called.) He said he had a back brace for me and that Medicare would cover it. I told I wasn't interested and hung up.

Fake Hewlet Packard Tech Support (Scam call) reported by


They will call you claiming to be with Hewlett Packard tech support. They knew my name and the type of computer I have. They told me that they can see that my computer has been hacked by Russian hackers and that all of my information is compromised. They continued by telling me that these hackers can use my IP address to commit crimes and I will be responsible AND that all my money was going to be stolen. It all sounds very convincing and the number the call from -8004746836- is VERY close to HP's real number which is 800-474-6836. Then they tell you that this is the ONLY time HP will offer to fix the problem for free and all they need you to do is give them remote access to your computer. I told them that I work in I.T and that I would handle it. Then he said that it was something HP had to do and he repeated the fact that I am getting robbed and my IP address was being used for "evil" things at that very moment. I told him to hang on a second and I pretended like I was preparing to give him the info but I actually was calling Hewlett Packard on another line while I stalled the scammers. I was patched through to someone at HP and the confirmed that HP does not EVER reach out unless requested to and that they did not have a giant team of people watching for hackers. He told me how common this scam was and asked me to try and fish as much info as I could out of him. I talked to the scammer some more and I asked him pretty basic computer questions and he had no idea what I was talking about. At the end I told him once more that I would handle the problem and he again pulled the "your are going to jail and losing your money" card and that is when I told him I was on the phone with H.P and that he was full of S***. He was speechless and then hung up on me. H.P confirmed that no computer company would reach out for this kind of thing. If you get this call hang up, look up the real number to the factory and call them yourself. Its a SCAM!!
