Oddly for me, it WAS PayPal. But here's what they did. I closed my Discover bank account, removed it from PP months ago. 1 single $50 purchase was charged, instead of PP using my bank account or my Credit Card or my Debit Card, they put it all thru to Discover! Who also tried to bill me for this bc of PP's stupidity. They were much more reliable when owned by eBay! Now call daily get this $50 shouldn't have gone thru to begin with.

I was suspicious However prior to call I was speaking with representative direct on the paypal app intant message. When I answered the lady said the same name as the lady I was speaking with on the PayPal app. She was across our conversation on the App. A fraudulent company couldn't have known that. She did not ask me for any details other than my name for authorisation, we resolved my query.

No one spoke or left voicemail. I never pick up unless I recognize the number. Then I came to your awesome app & read it was supposed to be a PayPal debt collector. Too many fake & spam calls out there, preying on innocent people like me. Plus, I have a good friend that PayPal actually owes several thousands of dollars too. Like over$4500! Terrible company & charges too big of fees for their services. Other reputable companies exist now that charge so much less.

Claimed to be Big Pond Customer Support (Company) reported by


Called but I didn't answer. They left a message translated from voice to text from Telstra - "Hey this is Tania from Big Pond Customer Support. Unfortunately we are unable to reach you. If you have further concerns please feel free to reach out to us." I had contacted PayPal earlier before the call on the same day through their online chat while logged in due to having difficulty linking a debit card to my account. It kept stating it was declined and to contact my bank. Not sure if these two relate but seems strange other people stated it was PayPal. Could possibly be a translation technical issue but that's a bit of a stretch since they don't sound similar.

PayPal , They called to follow up a support request that I'd made online. I was expecting the call so it was clear that it was legitimate. Perhaps scammers are faking their caller ID so it also looks like a legitimate PayPal call. In that case you need to press them to confirm who they really are, but this is definitely a legitimate number.

Call about non-existent invoice (Scam call) reported by


There are many posts on here that seem to believe this is a genuine call from PayPal. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT PAYPAL. They left a message on my answering machine, saying they were calling about an invoice. I have no outstanding invoice in either of my PayPal accounts. I checked my Message Center and Resolution Center in both my accounts and there were no notifications. As far as I am aware it is not PayPal's practice to make phone calls about matters of this kind. They will always contact you by direct email or through the Message Center.
