They called looking for me, when a family member answered they gave my family member all sorts of information from my credit report, legitimate private information and told my family member they wanted to offer me money to help. When my family member said I wasn't there, they then tried to sell them by asking them how much debt they were in. Called everyday for a week, no message, until my family answered.

Caller said they had business to discuss with (my name) When I asked what the call was regarding I felt like the caller was trying to get me to say yes, since there is a scam going around I used every other word I could think of. lol I was told the call was because I was due to receive $9,000 from the US government. I hung up and blocked the number at that point.

Second time I got the call in 48 hours The first, I heard nothing so I hung up The second, I said hello and then I heard a bunch of guys laughing and got hung up on.

$9000 federal grant from mid-eastern woman (Scam call) reported by


Received a call from a woman claiming to be from a branch of the federal government, which branch she wouldn't say. I replied with ok what is this about, she responds by telling me again that she is calling from a branch of the federal government, I repeated my response of "ok, what is this regarding". She then tells me I have been randomly selected to receive a grant for $9000 and I wouldn't have to pay it back. At this point I was under the impression something was definitely off, so I replied with "ok what is this grant for", immediately they hung up. I tried calling back twice but received a machine stating that my call could not be completed and to hang up. The woman spoke with a middle-eastern accent and was clearly hoping to scam me. People beware.
