Barclay phishing for credit card information and intercepting communications from my bank (Scam call) reported by


Multiple calls from this number (I let them go to voice mail). Automated voice says a 'hold has been placed on your account' however I do not currently have, nor have I ever had, a Barclay account. What disturbs me is that these calls appear to coincide with when I receive legitimate text messages from my actual bank (notifying me of large withdrawals, deposits, and low balance alerts) so this scam is somehow monitoring this traffic which has GOT TO BE ILLEGAL. Can someone please shut these folks down?

Just received a message from this number stating that my Barclay credit card was placed on hold until I called back and verified the credit card number. I called back to see actually what company this was, because I don't have a card from Barclay. Unless you enter a credit card number you cannot get through. Watch out for a call from this number.

My husband got the same call today and they said they were calling from World Master Card. I immediately Googled the # and brought me to this site to confirm it was a scam.

I received this call on my cell phone and I don't even have a mastercard credit card but it was a pre-recorded message from a security and fraud dept. of mastercard. left # to call back but I hung up instead. I hear its a scam to get your info.

Barclay FRAD CALL! Scary (Scam call) reported by


This number called and left a voicemail saying they were from the Barclay Fraud detection services. I don't recall having a credit card with this company so I was concerned and tried calling back. Once I got to their phone menu it was requiring me to enter my credit number in order to continue, so I hung up. I did a web search and called Barclay and got on the phone with one of their service reps and gave them the number. They said that the number I gave to them isn't associated with them and that the company is calling to try and collect information. BEWARE! Super scary.

This caller ask for personal credit card information, saying there was a big charge on the card and they will verify request if giving them your 16 digits to your card.

Same as other reports. Barclay card scam trying to get card information via an automated line. Asks you to enter your card number then your pin. Contacted Barclay bank and they confirmed it was a scamming transaction.
