53rd Mortgage (Debt collector) reported by


This number calls daily when I forget to pay my mortgage. They won't tell me any information about why they are calling just that they are Fifth Third Bank. They require that I give them personal information about myself before they will discuss why they are calling. I always refuse to give them my personal info until they tell me what they want or prove who they are. They refuse to offer any info. I argue that they called me so they know who I am and who they are calling, why should I have to prove who I am since they called me. They should prove who they are since they are asking for my private information and the caller ID only says TOLL FREE CALL. After a stalemate I go login to my 53rd account and realize that my wife forgot to make the payment. I make the payment online and the calls stop. This pattern has happened enough for me to conclude that they really are 53rd Bank, but I still refuse to give them or anyone my personal info. All I have to do is make my payments on time and the annoying calls stop. What a concept.
