Why, for the love of Pete, must they call repeatedly without leaving a message? I already completed my census form and submitted it. Do they really think that with all of the phishing scams that anyone wants to give any personal information about themselves over the phone? Everything you need to know was already given to you on the form I submitted. If you have additional questions, you should have put them on the original form, or send an additional follow up questionnaire by mail. Don't expect, in this day and age, people to divulge personal information over the phone. Ain't happening.

Due to moving apartments and having my fiance recently move in with me, the Census just needed to verify where exactly everybody lived full time to ensure that nobody was counted twice! THIS IS LEGIT. People saying it's a scam literally didn't take two seconds to just GOOGLE THE PHONE NUMBER and see that it is LISTED ON THE OFFICIAL CENSUS WEBSITE. IT IS LITERALLY THE FIRST LINK TO APPEAR and the website is a ".gov" you goofballs

I called the official census number (1844-330-2020) to verify if this number was in-use from the Census. They verified they are using the number. When I called the number back, they did not ask for any personal information other than the ID supplied in the message. They just wanted to verify my information submitted on the Census. It would be helpful if they provided the numbers that might contact you on a website, eh? Could have saved me some time.

Different person called twice before leaving the same information. I answered the third time and also looked up the phone number and it looked possibly legit. Before starting the interview, they asked for a "yes" or "no" to get my approval to proceed. They would not let me use a synonym for "yes," which instantly set off a warning sign... Not sure if its a scam but I will not say yes on a recorded line. Knowing how scams work, the census should know better than to require someone to say "yes" on a recorded line. If census people are reading these posts and this call is legit, I suggest you get a clue.

Same thing happend and I asked them to verify if they are from Census and refused to share the info. Ask them to share how i can verify and they didn't have the right answer.

I did the census online. I answered every question clearly. No need to harass me with phone calls. I will not give out any info over the phone seeing as hackers and scammers have busted into govt systems. For all I know, my info could have been retrieved by equifax breach or other breaches. Not taking any chances.

Since our wonderful Government can't manage to stop "solicited" calls---I don't answer my phone, unless I know the number! The United States Census Bureau knew how to contact me once, they can do it again. If I don't recognise a number and no message is left---I block it.

2020 Census Call on July 4th (Scam call) reported by


We have been getting several calls for days from this number, not leaving a message. At 1:01 p.m. on July 4th, we get a call from 844-809-7717, I say can I help you, man says I need to speak with my husbands first name? I say again can I help you? He says my Name is Arthur, I'm calling from the Census and I need to speak with {husband's name} about the census. I state this is a do not call number which is on the don not call list, the census was already filled out and you do not need to speak with anyone hear. He says oh, well that's not on my list. I say well it is on the federal list so obviously your not legit. do not call this number again. and hang up. I am positive we are not paying the Census to work on July 4th.

I have already taken the census online. I do not give personal info over the phone. And anyone who comes to my door will be delt with accordingly for being a terrorist, spreading covid-19 is punishable by any means necessary even if they has a mask(requirement you must have proof that census workers have had a covid-19 test that day with them, otherwise they is fair game), I live in Louisiana. All I have to do is put you inside and say I was in fear for my life and you forced your way in. Police jury will let me go with maybe a small fine cuz I'm American Black. And Census takers are white and Democrat! #BlackLivesMatter #UncleSamsDON'T! Why don't you dumb bit ches look over our tax records bit ches! Do Ya Own Works. Jesus! Tax records do not show ethnicity. Records are used by Civil Right Groups to represent, give funds and scholarships. If you care about your own, then you would know that your response gives more representation to your community. This is to help you out man!!! Get some education about what the Census is for. You are working against our minority groups with that attitude.
