They say they are confirming an appt. and wanted some information. When I explained I didn’t have xfinity service... he said “that’s strange, maybe you can give me a little more information to see why you are getting this call... what’s the service address?” I hung up.

I’ve had all my WiFi devices corrupted and have had to stop using all of my devices that connect to the internet. 8 Alexa devices, countless other IOT devices (light bulbs, garage door opener, thermostat, etc) no longer useable. Almost a month ago I heard noises at the far end of the house from my bedroom. Went outside to investigate and the entire box that houses the cables and splitters, where they enter the home, was removed from the side of my house. I assume there was a device installed in there and they were coming back to get it. I had been having major issues with home network and had my cell SIM card hacked... I called Comcast and they were scheduled to come out to look at it. Got a call from this number and same deal... I’m still having issues and just scheduled an appointment last night for a tech to come out in a few days. Sure enough I got a call from this number today. I didn’t answer obviously.

I have An appointment for a tech to come out in a couple days, the caller said “I’m an advanced tech support and can fix your problem now to avoid tech coming out so you can enjoy best Xfinity service starting today” i told Him for what? I have A tech coming, already tried fixing the problem earlier and I’m just going to wait. He was persistent in letting me know he could fix it right now on the phone. I said Well why wouldn’t they transfer me to you earlier when i was Trying to fix it ? He said ma’am I’m advanced i can Fix now to save you money and give you best Comcast experience. He did not know the time of my appointment but then said oh yea i see It here. I feel It was a scam and hung up on him. Strange....

The lady on the phone claimed to be with Xfinity and was confirming an appointment for tomorrow (she knew the time a technician was coming) and said that since I didn't have any outages today that I should cancel the appointment. But I've been having outages for a month now and said that I still want someone to come. I feel like a genuine Xfinity rep would not try to dissuade me since I've been having so many problems and definitely should be helped. It was not the usual 1-800 Xfinity number and the call was not as good quality as some of the other customer service calls so I'm very suspicious of its authenticity. She finally conceded to let me keep my appointment and said she would call again in the morning before the tech comes to check if my connection has improved (presumably to try and cancel the appointment).

I had same experience as other commenters except it was 9501 last 4 dIGIts of phone number who called me. I had service call earlier that day that I made and it was resolved as far as could be without tech rep coming to my house to check wires and box), mystery caller left a message, I called back but they could not tell me who I WAS like the REAL TECH at optimum could. I told the scam tech guy I did not need his help issue was being resolved with new box on service appointment. He did not need my info because I did not need his help but he was PERSISTANT to get it. It was NOT OPTIMUM. I called optimum and they did not recognize the number that called me - I put in a scam complaint to find out why a man with an indian accent not from optimum would know I had a device appointment but not have my info and not call my optimum phone! - meaning there is a leak in the system or my phone has hidden ears. DO NOT GIVE INFO BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW WHO IT REALLY IS ON THAT PHONE WHO CALLED YOU!!! ALWAYS CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR BILL!

It's weird, but I scheduled a service appt with Comast today for tomorrow. The man that called immediately asked me a Yes/No question after he introduced himself as a Comcast technician. Something in my gut told me it was a scam, even though they did know my appt. time, so I immediately hung up. I called Comcast, told them about this call, gave them the phone number and verified my appt. on the phone with the customer service agent.

I didn't answer, it went to voicemail. It was a computer voice canceling a Comcast appointment. I don't have Comcast. I never made an appointment with them either. I'm pretty sure if it was a real call, they would have confirmed my name/account number and not just state they were Comcast without any type of identification.

Basically trying to cancel a scheduled service call by telling me everything was fine, which it's not, then they wanted to do the same reset protocols that had already been done twice, which I refused. So they agreed to keep the service appt.
