NOT SPAM. I got this call about my appointment I had made for my internet service issue... I thought it was a scam caller, BUT I called Optimum back afterwards and asked them if it was legit, and they said yes it was their technician just checking to see if I still had an internet issue before they came to the appointment this week.

This number called me today ..claiming that they are from advanced support team and will troubleshoot the issue by monitoring the signal and asked for my password. Thick foreign accent and continiously apologized for the inconvenience too many times back to back ..i hang up the call.

I got a voicemail from this number claiming to be Optimum checking about my upcoming appointment. I do have an upcoming appointment, I don't know how they knew, but the number was not listed on Optimum's official list of numbers. I contacted Optimum support to verify if the call was from them, and they informed me that the number was NOT theirs and they advised me not to answer to give any info to anyone at this number.

Called left message that they were optimum following up on sevice call I made EARLIER today. That issue was resolved. I called back the number from the message and what showed up on my caller i.d which NEVER CAME UP AS OPTIMUM. They tried to get me to give them my personal info and account info but I did not and NOR SHOULD YOU. They DID NOT HAVE MY INFO. The first tech that did resolve my issue earlier today (the tech I called on a number from my optimum bill) knew who I was and my number without me giving them any info. All they did was ask for my passcode. man with indian accent answered the second call (from message) and said it was a followup to help resolve the issue WHICH HAD BEEN RESOLVED. that's a big red flag. He was persistent to get my personal account info even though I said issue was resolved enough until my service appt this week for new box and lines. I said issue was resolved I did not need his tech services but still he wanted my info. NEVER GIVE INFO UNLESS YOU CALL THE NUMBER LISTED ON YOUR BILL OR ONLINE ACCOUNT. THIS IS A SCAM. They called my cel phone when they should have called the hardwire optimum phone line I get from THEM. AGAIN, THIS IS A SCAM. how they knew I needed and used tech service today Is another mystery I need to resolve. I think my cellphone has ears if you know what I mean.
