Lots of reports on another website with people arguing back and forth as to whether this is ACTUALLY Capital One or some scammer spoofing their number. At any rate, in my case, I screened the call because I didn't recognize the number and whoever called hung up when the answering machine message ended. If it *IS* Capital One, they're [expletive deleted] up because I don't think we even *have* a credit card through them. Unless they bought out those ****-wipes at Synchrony Bank who issued our Sam's Club card and cut our credit limit in half when it switched from being Discover to being MasterCard. Just saw a story on the noon news that all the major phone companies are banding together to try and block robocalls (free to customers) -- I'll believe it when I see it....

800-903-3637 is an actual Capital One Bank number, but foreign criminals are displaying that Caller-ID on victims' phones, and then trying to steal their financial data and cash. This number is never safe because the customer has no idea whether the caller is the actual Capital One bank or overseas scammers.
