They need my credit card number or bank acc/ routing number. I asked them how much do I owe you? They told me the amount much higher than my electricity bill and they said that’s over due fee and it normally appears on my nxt bill. I asked them how do I know if you are real centerpoint energy? They got upset and then how do I know you have over due payment?! I need your card number now!!! Then they transferred to the financial department. They told me completely the different price that the other guy told me. I’ve been paid and checked their phone number while I was talking to them. And I told them that I checked their phone number and a lot of people say it’s a scam. Then they just hang up the phone.

Scam robocaller claiming to be with CenterPoint Energy. Stated my account is scheduled for automatic disconnect within the next 30 or 45 minutes or something, and I needed to press 1 for the Billing department. There's no issue with my account. ... When I didn't press anything, the call disconnected. Losers!

This was a spoofed Centerpoint call stating that if I did not pay my past due bill immediately, my service would be interrupted. I do have a Texas cell phone prefix and did have a Centerpoint account in my name for many years prior to moving to Florida. This is a scam. Hang up and call the company to verify!

Spoofed number of actual Centerpoint number. I have centerpoint saved in my contacts list so I answered the call. The robocall portion stated my account was delinquent and I was going to be disconnected. "Press 1 to speak to an operator" so I did. At the same time I logged in to my centerpoint account online and saw I owed nothing (I have auto bill pay). A man answered and said "Centerpoint, how can I help you today?" and I said "You guys called me about my bill" and he either hung up or we were disconnected. I called the number back (It really is a Centerpoint number) and was told by the roboanswerbot that they were closed and I could not speak to a live rep at that time. **Never give credit card or account info to anyone that calls you first**

Claiming to be a CenterPoint energy rep stating they were trying to get in touch with me to tell me my power was going to be shut off because of pay due bills. I have solar energy and I don’t have to even deal with CenterPoint. They were asking me to verify my name and address but couldn’t tell me what my name was; weird since they were calling to shut off my electricity. They insisted on a payment to prevent shutting off my services. Lmfaooo I have SOLAR ENERGY. This is so laughable. Besides, the person I spoke with became so flustered when I did not give them any info or financial info. CENTERPOINT WILL NEVER CALL YOU TO LET YOU KNOW YOUR POWER IS GOING TO BE SHUT OFF. These scammers may trick some real consumers because they are spoofing real phone numbers.
