It is after 8:30pm, a survey caller was polite and asked for my time to answer questions. I asked to be removed from mailing list.

As stated, caller tried to obtain SSN. Male subject Jack Smith with country of India accent refused to give out further identification to verify call. CDC, Medicare, or any other federal agency doesn't call any survey according to actual returned phone call to number. If call was legit, they would already have the info on file if the agency knows your name, address, etc. This is ID theft scam.

yeah Mike.. the cdc isn't contracting out their call center to india and asking for SSN's. While the ORIGINAL calls may have been on behalf of CDC, this one was phishing.
