Impersonating the IRS, threatening baseless allegations. (Scam call) reported by


They leave a poorly worded message threatening to take legal action for some mysterious unspecified allegation, demanding a call back. They answer the phone "IRS" - but if you call them out on impersonating the government, they will pretend you heard wrong and say they are from some company. This is part of a wave of similar scams - the only thing you should do is report the number to the FTC and waste as much of their time as possible. Do not give them any information.
