They claim to be Amazon, but they are not. They tell you have a large charge on your account. Then to verify who you are, they ask your for your amazon username and password so they can access your records. If they were Amazon, they would have access to my records.

Robotic voice claiming iPhone had been purchased on my account and detected as fraud. I looked in my amazon account and see no such purchase. Be careful, folks!

The number was Amazon's customer service number, which I'm sure was spoofed. I didn't answer because there's no way Amazon would be calling me as I don't have an account.

An automated message informed me that someone recently "bought" a new IPhoneX on my Amazon account and that I need to stay on the line or callback (no number provided) to cancel the order. #1 Amazon doesn't work like that. #2. My Amazon order history shows my last transactions as well as other purchase history...surprise surprise no new IPhoneX. This call is bogus and the only people on here claiming it isn't are either very stupid or part of the scam trying to convince anyone gullible enough to fall for it.

I got exactly the same call from "Amazon" about a new iPhone X purchase, which does not appear on my account. . .do not give this caller any information.

I got the same call, I hung up once they asked me to change my security settings. I called Amazon directly and was told by a very helpful staff that Amazon will never call you, they will send you and email or you will receive a message through their app that something is wrong with your order. If someone hacked into your account they would not know until you notify them of the fraudulent purchase. I get these calls all the time now and have them blocked.
