Similar to others,the guy said he was calling on a recorded line from Spectrum. When I refused to verify my address (YOU called ME) he got shirty and said "you do realize this is how we verify your identify, don't you?" I said well give me a number and I'll call you back. When I googled the number, I found this thread!

This appears to be a legitimate pre-collection Spectrum service. Got a call saying I owed for an unreturned modem, which is accurate. Still seemed fishy, but when I spoke with Spectrum through their official customer service channel the rep confirmed this number is legit - if it's a scam it's a sophisticated one.

"Spectrum" called about a closed account, claiming that there is a time sensitive information on file. They asked about account details, which I refused to provide over the phone. Then the person asked to call the company back to learn more, and insisted that this is not a marketing call. When I call Spectrum, no time sensitive or any other kind of pending information was found on file.

Caller stated they were "calling back on a recorded line from Spectrum" and wanted to discuss my closed account, but as others have stated, they wanted me to give THEM my address information. Um, NO! Mama didn't raise no fool. I called Spectrum back (the phone number from the website), and the agent said I had a zero balance and that I did the right thing. People should never give a cold caller their information. The caller was adamant that she needed to speak to me about my closed account... My closed account is paid in full!

Said they were calling from specturm and that I had a balanced for a modem they did not receive. I called spectrum's customer service line listed on their webpage to confirm that I had no balance, which I did not. Didn't call the other number back.

They have been calling me for months now. The only time i answered, the lady asked me to provide my address, after i said no for safety reasons she said she cannot disclose information. obviously i hung up as this smells too scammy for my taste. I then called spectrum who said i dont owe anything. I asked for an email or letter with proof of this and they said they cannot provide it so to just ignore all calls. please dont give your info or pay anything unless you are 1000% sure and have proof of its validity

Wanted to know my old Spectrum address. DO NOT GIVE INFO FROM A COLD CALL! May or may not be from Spectrum. ALWAYS CALL SPECTRUM YOURSELF!!! In my case I went onto my Spectrum account and found out there was un-returned equipment. I returned it to them. MAKE SURE YOU GET A RECEIPT WHEN YOU RETURN!

Recently moved and closed Spectrum account. They said I owed about $61. I was proactive ahead of time (this was during the pandemic) and called Spectrum to make sure I don't owe any other money for a closed account since they sent me bills for the materials THAT I SENT OVER A WEEK back to them through UPS. At that time the Spectrum helper said I did not owe anymore. HOWEVER, this call came (3 times within the past few days) and I finally answered it with them saying I owed them about $61 before they send it to a third party (REALLY SCARY). I argued with them about how I would have ever known this after already checking with them at least a month before this call to make sure I did not owe ANY money on my closed account. Their side still did not make sense to me. I also did not receive several of the emails they claimed they sent. Even the one they said they would send today. They offered to take my payment over the phone. I saw this while on the phone (I thought it was VERY sketchy because they DID NOT leave any voicemail about the concern). After I got off the phone I reached out to Spectrum's chat which gave me a phone number to get to a representative who said I did owe $61 (flat)....very strange, but I paid it. It is dangerous to have it sent to a third party (saw it from John Oliver's show) :D Wow Spectrum is horrible. If you are stuck with them I am sorry you need to be persistent with them not once, BUT twice after you close an account to ensure you don't owe any mysterious billing (I had an additional $3 charge not explained to me on my first contact to Spectrum and still believe this bill started after I canceled my account and not during, but since I was convinced on the first call that I was taken care of I threw out all the records of my closed account BIG mistake). Sorry I am adulting. However, Spectrum is horrible in service. If you have the option do not choose this monoply.

You definitely did not get scammed they are a pre prime collections depth meaning your account is still with spectrum now if it does leave the office then at that point you will have to speak to 3rd party not spectrum

This is Spectrum's closed account call center, instead of letting me see my bill and pay it online, they expect me to believe that they took a call from me to "reinstate" my internet for a full week after I was out of the apartment, then want me to pay for equiptment that i have proof of returned. They are a legit company but need to get their **** straight.

They called saying requesting information to proceed about an outstanding payment. I did not give it to them. Called spectrum and they said that there is nothing on my account that would require this call and that it is a scam (I was pretty sure it was, but wanted to be sure). They sad that if they call again to tell them to get lost and to stop calling.

I don't know who it is but they have called no joke 15 times every day without fail since october 2019 it's january 2020 now! They never leave a voicemail and when i answer they immediately hang up. They will call all hours of the day several times in a row several times a day. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Called to collect on a bill that should never be owed on. Can't log in online to see the bill. We paid the last bill we got after we cut the services off, and they are now saying that we owe them a months worth of a bill. Asked them to send me a paper bill to look at the services charged, and they have yet to send me on. I even gave them my new address 4 times to send it to. They call several times a day and NEVER leave a voicemail.

Spectrum attempting to collect on late charges I should never have been charged. I have not had access to view my bill online for 10 months now & Spectrum says 'You don't need to see your bill, just pay it. You're getting our services, right?' Wrong, I need to see the late charges & be able to dispute them. And since their online access has not worked for me in 10 months & no-one knows how to fix it, I stopped paying them! They are a horrible company with very poor customer service skills!!
