They claim that I owe them for "months of service provided" for 3 months. These 3 months are AFTER I RETURNED THEIR EQUIPMENT, which I still have the return reciept for. Seems their billing dept cannot figure out that they are NOT providing service, when there's nothing to provide service to. Then the CS Rep on the phone says, "WE can send out a service technician to look into the issue" which I interrupt and say, "Who this time? Kyle? Robert? David? John? They all come out, yet the only REAL problem here is your service is 18K dial up modem speed, but for a 1000 MB price." Then I get sent to billing, and have sat on hold there for 3 hours, and ended up just hanging up.

Why would spectrum call Mr at at 8am and 8pm before and after business hours. I don't even speak to ppl over the phone to handle my business anymore. I picked up and said I don't have time for spam calls. If they did say they were from spectrum I would just hang up and call directly. I don't have time for games.

This is Charter Spectrum calling about an unresolved account. It is odd that they ask for your address when they call? Which is why I refused to provide my information. I called Charter Spectrum directly and spoke to a billing/services representative who confirmed I did owe a single months payment that was not paid after I canceled the account. I assumed my payment on 3-3 covered the March/April Bill but it covered the Feb/March bill. So I still owed an april payment which covered March/April. Hope this helps someone!

It's Spectrum. They have all your info on file and read it to you. Guy told me it's the department that calls after service cancellation if you have a partial bill remaining after cancelling your service.

Called back number was Spectrum asking if my equipment was okay just reactived my account. After called Spectrum number for my town they said its there number not a scam. It is Spectrum 1(877) 766-8523 he knew about my account and how we just actived it. Its been off for awhile per covid.

Got a call. Didn't trust the unfamiliar number so called spectrum, and it was some sixty bucks I owed. It's annoying that I owed the cash and they only told me three months later, but it appears to be legit.

I know the ratings on this are all over the place but it is a legitimate call from Spectrum. They were calling about my closed account and asked me to verify my address. When I said I wasn't comfortable, they told me I should visit a local Spectrum and speak to them. I decided to call Spectrum's customer service number and was told that I needed to return equipment -- I do actually have the router I forgot to send back. Since scams can be sophisticated these days, if you do get a call from this number, I would at least contact Spectrum directly yourself so you can confirm you don't owe anything.

Similar to others,the guy said he was calling on a recorded line from Spectrum. When I refused to verify my address (YOU called ME) he got shirty and said "you do realize this is how we verify your identify, don't you?" I said well give me a number and I'll call you back. When I googled the number, I found this thread!

This appears to be a legitimate pre-collection Spectrum service. Got a call saying I owed for an unreturned modem, which is accurate. Still seemed fishy, but when I spoke with Spectrum through their official customer service channel the rep confirmed this number is legit - if it's a scam it's a sophisticated one.

"Spectrum" called about a closed account, claiming that there is a time sensitive information on file. They asked about account details, which I refused to provide over the phone. Then the person asked to call the company back to learn more, and insisted that this is not a marketing call. When I call Spectrum, no time sensitive or any other kind of pending information was found on file.

Caller stated they were "calling back on a recorded line from Spectrum" and wanted to discuss my closed account, but as others have stated, they wanted me to give THEM my address information. Um, NO! Mama didn't raise no fool. I called Spectrum back (the phone number from the website), and the agent said I had a zero balance and that I did the right thing. People should never give a cold caller their information. The caller was adamant that she needed to speak to me about my closed account... My closed account is paid in full!
