First I was called, but didn’t pick up since I didn’t recognize the phone number. Then I got a text message from my bank asking if I tried to make a large purchase from Saks Fifth Avenue, I responded no. They called again and asked me if I had the card ending in #### in my possession, as there were a couple of attempted purchases outside of my area that they declined. I had shredded it, as the bank had told me a month ago that it may have compromised. I guess they were right!

this call was from a third party company that is hired by Premier Members Credit Union to follow up on suspicious charges in that they could be fraudulent. I did not have to give out any of my identifying information that I was concerned about. I only had to give my billing zip code to the computer and then confirm the last four digits of my debit card number that the assistant told me.

If they have your debit card number and you give them your billing zip code, they could use that to charge things and make a copy of your debit card

Turned out to be a legit call after my card was flagged with suspicious activity. i called back on a different number listed on my credit unions website and they confirmed that it was a third party company that handles their fraud claims.

I called back, it is the real deal. Someone tried to purchase thousands of dollars of stuff in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain. Thank goodness they stopped it!
