This is Comcast. I chatted with Xfinity online (from their website) and they verified there was an open service call for my house (they actually said there was an appointment already scheduled, but that's another issue). I called this number back to schedule a service appointment, and the chat representative received confirmation of the appointment in real time. I also received a text confirmation on my phone from Xfinity.

Received a call from this number - the message didn't say who it was from, so I Googled and found this site. Called Comcast customer service and she said the robo call was legit and there is a 'service leakage' in my area. She scheduled someone to come out tomorrow midday, and we don't even have to be home. It's an outside issue. Not sure why they had to call to schedule if they didn't need to come inside, but I suppose they want you to know they're messing with it in case your service goes out for a while. I suggested to her they contact people another way - robo message sounds very fishy.

Received a voicemail asking to call back to this number stating that Comcast needs to schedule an appointment to fix some service issues. I called official Comcast customer service, not this number, and asked if they had called me. They confirmed having called and told they will need to come take a look at a technical issue related to my signal.

NOT a scam call. Left a message stating that I might be experiencing a disruption in my service, and that a technician would need to come out. I called Xfinity's normal customer service number about it, and the rep knew immediately what I was referring to and said a technician would be out to fix things in two days, no need to enter my apartment. I am getting plagued by constant calls from this number from people claiming to be Comcast. What is chilling is that they have my name. I blocked the calls. I will talk to the Xfinity Office when I return and report this sketchiness. Always check with your local cable company first before you give out info.

Numerous daily calls and yesterday an email. I called Xfinity (1 800 Xfinity) directly today, not the number 855 538-4277. I have no noticeable equipment issues, but there is an issue. They are repairing and upgrading their service lines in my area. This was not a scam call. When in doubt, contact your provider directly to be certain the call is legit. Never can be too careful.

I called them to schedule appointment, chickened out after talking to them and said I'll call back later. Next day I call comcast and tell them and they had already scheduled an appointment for a tech to come out. I guess the first call guy went ahead and scheduled it after I hung up. Anyways, confirmed this is legit call/email.

I got NUMEROUS voicemails from "Comcast" over the last month with a voicemail saying I need to call the number back to schedule a service appointment, even though I may not be experiencing problems. After a month or more of ignoring the calls, I finally called back but was disconnected. I called again, and I confirmed my phone number, address, and name. Then the line was silent and I couldn't hear anything for a couple of minutes, then was disconnected. I got really worried I confirmed my personal details with a scammer - not good! I called the main Comcast line and they confirmed I needed to make an appointment for a technician, which was made for the following day. I'm still not sure about the 855 number, but I would advise you call the main line to talk to Comcast about the voicemails if you are getting these too.

Fraudulent Comcast call trying to get into my home! (Scam call) reported by


A man said he was calling from Comcast to schedule a time to examine the equipment in my home for potential viruses. He asked for a convenient date and time to schedule and I said, "NO." Then he promptly hung up. Very creepy and totally unsolicited. Comcast doesn't need to physically examine equipment for viruses, as viruses live inside the software, not the equipment. I'm extremely uneasy about this experience.
