Collecting a small unpaid portion of a hospital bill. They had left very non-specific messages that made the call look very suspicious. After paying the remainder of my hospital bill, I mentioned this and said they need better messages and that it had looked like a scam.1 The caller said they get a lot of complaints about this. In any case, IT’S NOT A SCAM.

Barnes Jewish hospital I had just sent them a check last week, I thought they were calling to ask where it was but she checked and let me know they received it, she did want a confirmation of address and birthdate, she was courteous and thanked me. I would not have called back except I saw a comment above that it was BJC hospital.

Asked me to confirm my address but they wouldn't say anything other than they were in the hospitals business office. I said I have nothing due to any hospital so why are you calling? He kept saying I needed to confirm my info and I said NOPE if it's something important send me a letter. We shall see if I get one.

I received a missed call from this number. An automated voicemail was left stating my full name and asking me to call them back on the same number. I read these reviews online and was concerned that it was either collections for a hospital bill I have (but is not overdue), or a scam. This number was not the number on my hospital bill. I then called the hospital and they explained to me that no, it isn't a scam, it is actually a collections agency, but I am not in collections. They said they are using the service to help them pro actively set up payment plans with people early.
