Bank of America fraud prevention had been trying to verify some purchases via text. I logged in to my account through normal method and verified this. I verified the purchases on their website. I believe the phone call was probably legit, trying to verify same.

They call me a few days after a legit fraud was reported on my BoA account so I took it seriously. The voice was very robotic so I decided to ignore and call the number on the back of my credit card and they confirmed this was a scam call.

5:00 a.m. text message asking if I used their credit card - had last 4 digits - at MICROSOFT for $105.99. They tentatively Declined it and asked if legit. Reply YES or NO. I replied NO and they said to login to their website or call the 844 number. Instead I called the 800 number on the back of my card. Their BofA security rep confirmed that the msg was legit, as is the 844 number. I don't know what smart logic declined the charge up front; but, glad. BofA sending new card and researching the fraudulent charge.

Be careful! They called me and asked my Driver Licence number and my BoA online ID. My cousin works in BoA for 3 years and he told me BoA representatives never ask for sensitive information like online ID or Driver Licence number. It was totally scam! BE CAREFUL!

I was suspicious about the call and hung up. Called BofA and found out it was legitimate. My card was blocked and I had to talk to their fraud department to have it removed.

Call on my answering machine 8/8/2019 @ 8:53AM stating fraud was detected on my Visa card and to call 844/585-0490 immediately to verify as a hold was placed on my card for future charges until I could verify the suspicious transactions. Called the card issuer, B of A Fraud Unit, using the number on the Visa card. They verified there was no suspicious activity and no holds on the use of my card. And by the way, the message was repeated three times on my message machine - once by a man’s voice and twice by a woman’s voice. Guess they had to make the call sound serious enough to get an immediate call back. Sorry Scammers, I didn’t just fall off the turnip truck !!!

I just received a text msg, allegedly from Bank of America, saying there were two charges today on my card (they listed the correct last 4 digits), one at a gas station and another at online purchases. To confirm these are ok then reply YES, if they are not valid then reply NO. i replied NO. I immediately received a text msg that my card is now restricted and to call this 844-585-0490 now. I called that number it sounded like BoA answering recording asking for my credit card number or my last 4 digits of my SS# after I put my personal information they hunged the phone. I called the real BoA located in my home town and they just told me that it was a scam that they don't have 844 numbers.

They dialed in & said there was a fraudulent transaction & connect me to the operator. The operator was a human & asked me for the card no as the details did not show up in her screen. I told her usually the bank does not ask for details if it was a call from the bank. They politely said that if I have any doubt, I can call the no behind my card. But it was just a fraction of a second I was gonna be cheated. Plz be careful
