Left a message on my answering machine claiming to be from Pacific Gas and Electric. Stated I needed to call regarding my unpaid bill or my service would be cut off. My bill is up to date. This is a scam. I called back and it rang with no answer.

Florida Power and Light Impersonator (Scam call) reported by


Claimed to be Florida Power and Light utility company requiring payment for past due bill. Threatened to cut off electric service if I didn’t pay. I definitely do not have any past due bills with this utility as I don’t even have an account with them. Total scam caller.

Claimed to be Sevier County Electric cutting off power, wanted $$ (Debt collector) reported by


Received call from "no caller ID" number, claimed to be my power company, Sevier County Electric System, and was sending a team out to cut off my power on a Saturday morning. Said I would have to call customer service at 800-470-6801 to make payment to avoid my power being cut off. I have no problem paying bills and knew it was a scam, but engaged to see what else I could find out. Pretty sure the same guy answered in a more officious tone. He knew the scam had gone bad and hung up after a few seconds.
