hacked android phone and transferred money from my account. (Scam call) reported by


My father called on this number for some refund related issues that was to come from Paypal. After number was engaged, he disconnected. Immediately received a call saying that he is from Paypal and offered help for refund. Then he asked to install an application in the phone and got remote access to his phone. Later with his clever words took some ATM card information and transferred all money from my fathers account within no time. I wonder how after calling Paypal customer number my fathers contact no was passed to this fraudster also if this number is fraud then why is it floating in the internet as Paypal customer care. I think Paypal should be careful in this regard as the company is loosing credibility. I understand the mistake happened from our ens as well as he is not very tech savvy. Still it happened and i thought to share here so that some body can safeguard himself. Thank you.

Starts out as a robo call saying that your paypal has been hacked and press 1. A Human voice came on and tried to convince me my account has been hacked and to turn my computer over to soft something . tk. Putting that into my address bar it came up as a dangerous website. I told them I would have to call back and hung up. Called Paypal and they said no one has tried to make any purchases on my account other than me.
