I dialed 800-973-1173 to get an invoice from MSC INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES as they had it listed on the packing slip, for an order I had. person on the phone was obviously not from the US but that wasn't a big deal since there are call centers contacted out to other countries so i gave them benefit of the doubt. What was sketchy is that he gave me this number(800-373-3411) to call after finding out that i wasn't a residential caller(called from work) thankfully I only gave him the address to my workplace.

I called into Allstate Benefits to reset my password and my call was picked up by these scammers. Looking back, I realize I misdialed a digit. I gave the requested info since I thought I was calling into Allstate, but it seemed off the whole time. They gave me a verification code and told me to call 800-373-34xx & give the code to get my account unlocked. I Googled the number at that point and found this thread. I never called, but instead called my credit union to cancel my card. While I was on the phone with them, I got a charge for $4.95 to CPH*PROGRESSIVE. Luckily that got blocked, but what a pain. Lesson learned: if it feels like a scam, even calling a legit company, just hang up.

I tried calling a local Groupon offer number and was redirected here. After "confirming" my credit card number, they refused to schedule an appointment until I accepted the terms of a GroceryOne delivery service. When I asked for the number to the actual clinic, they gave me this same number. I had to cancel my credit card.

I literally just called to Dell Technologies the number in the site for customer service or support and got attended by a woman, with very poor sense of customer service, she asked me to call 1 855 846 8676, saying that they would help me with my request, I believed it was due to the particularity of my needs, called to that number and after a long, long call, wait time, and requesting for my card information, I was told about the "verification code" as well, nothing was clear, I thought it was weird that the attention was poor, the guy needed me to repeat the info several times cause he got it wrong all time, never even asked about my request. So I was doubting, but at the same time, why would I doubt if I was directed by the Dell Technologies customer support number? Well, then after so long guy on the line said he had troubles creating my verification code and that it could not be created, so asked me to call to this number. Haven't called, just immediately locked my card

Was calling my new insurance company, dial the number from the web, something got the insurance company I wanted somehow my call Got Hijacked I thought I was still talking to the insurance rep how to answer yes to being over 18 no to be over 90 and then along list of charges who the rep said not to pay any attention to did not apply then he gave me this number to call one 800-373-3411 they said I want a $100 gift card just pay processing of $2.90 I said no the rep that came on and said I'm sure you can afford it when I said no and I hung up only the fine they had taken the money out of my account had to call and stop my bank account how does a call get hijacked when you're calling a legitimate number

This happened to me as well! I was on a call and they gave me this number to finish talking with & it’s a version of 411. I was MAD.

A version of this happened to me - I thought I was calling Best Buy Geek Squad and after a ridiculous and ridiculously long "conversation" (loosely defined as an overseas boiler room) I was told to copy down a verification number to call 800 373-3411. I was told to answer yes to being over 18 no to be over 90 and then disregard a bunch of offers that will be charged to my account. This second call put me in an endless loop of faulty verification and I hung up. The only thing that made sense in retrospect was that each of the 2 calls got ALL of my credit card info - number, CVV, expiration date. I had to immediately cancel my Citibank credit card.

Allstate Scam

I had the same issue as Mary. However, I noticed I misdialed Allstate's number by one digit. I only gave the info because I called into them. I Googled the second number before calling and found this thread. Had one pending charge for $4.95 to CPH*PROGRESSIVE by the time I called into cancel my card.

I called Telus to unlock my cellphone and when the call was answered I was told that i called at the right time because not only would they unlock my phone but also send me a cash prize. Then i was told in order to complete the service I was being forwarded to this number 1800 373 3411. I had called the number on the Telus website(1-866-558-2273) for assistance, how was my call intercepted by a telemarketing scam? WTF.
