the initial recording claimed to be from Com Ed and threatened immediate disconnection of my electricity, but Com Ed doesn't operate in my area and electric is included in my rent. i spoke briefly with a rep. when i asked bluntly if the was a scam he said "i hope you win an award for that" and hung up

I answered the call thinking it's a real ComEd but the guy told me that third party named Liberty something or other called and told "comed" to cut off my electricity because I didn't pay the financial party. I said I didn't sign up for anything like that and the guy told me that unfortunately they have to come to my residence to cut off the electricity. That when I realized and hung up the phone. I called the real ComEd and told me that they didn't make any calls and that is definitely a scam.

Fake com Ed (Scam call) coming from real comed number
I encountered the same issue this morning (09-30-2023). Call came from real comed 1-800-334- 7661 number. Some guy with a European accent requested that I make a payment, the
technician out to cut off my electric line. He claimed I had just 20 minutes before the technician would arrive and disconnect the line. He kept asking why I hadn't paid my bill and why I hadn't made a payment. I told him I needed to investigate why my payment hadn't posted, and once I finished my research, I would call him back. I asked him for the number to reach him, and he provided this number: 844-431-7904. I haven't called back because I now realize it's a scam. If he does call back, I plan cussing his behind out.. Hoping he would call back..

I called ComEd today and they asked if they could call me with a survey later, so this was the survey people calling a couple hours later. Didn't pick up the call though, but it left a robo survey question on my voicemail before disconnecting
