They called my mom she didn't understand English that well so I took over and asked who are they and what was the reason for the call. Apparently they can't tell me anything because I'm not the person they are trying to reach so we're stuck. Couldn't even say what company they are calling from. ?????

This is definitely NOT Discover Card. Not even a reputable legitimate company. I had a short talk with them. They called so it's their responsibility to verify who they are. They wouldn't even identify themselves at first. They where sure anxious for me to give them all my information. Just hang up and block them. It's simply a SCAM!

No credit card company asks for your 16 digit card number over the phone. They were hoping I would just give it to them. Real credit card companies identity you first through name, birthdate, mothers maiden name, etc.

This number called me and I believe it is Discover Financial Services because they left me a voice mail and stated that and it seemed legit.

I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but there are two facts: people do search for this number which can be seen from different similar pages, and there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Probably calling with different offers for different companies, but for sure some general call center. I recommend to block the whole 4804811xxx range... Did someone answer any number of this range?
