These guys have been calling from Texas but I am in Canada. What business are these people as they will not be getting anything from me. These guys have called me almost 4 times and they are wasting my time.

It's this company: https://www.elagoondigital.com/. Their usa number ends in 89, not 90, but the Indian guy said it was them. I have gotten several calls each day since buying some new domains a few days ago. They just hang up everytime I answer. I went to their site, and gave then a huge piece of my mind on their contact form! And, NO, I did not give them my actual email address :) And, this has NOTHING to do with Godaddy!! I did not use them for my registration. Whois records are available to anyone!

Yes it does have to do with any website that you register a domain name with. YOU MUST PAY FOR PRIVACY!! Just had this issue with weebly.

I also got this call right after I registered with "Go Daddy." WOW- you'd think Go Daddy would have done something about it(?). Anyway scary because they said that I had a domain named something like "alibaba" which I don't, but they had my name and phone number. I did my transaction w Go Daddy over my phone which just IS NOT secure. Glad this infor was available.

Not Godaddys fault. If you used your phone number for registration and didn't make it private. That info is there in the public domain for anyone to see. Do a "Whois" on your domain and you'll see what everyone sees.

There is a trend in the reviews that this started happening when people use go-daddy as a hosting service, and it has occurred to me that there is an extra paid option to NOT release your information to the public. however this is not just the public being a nuisance. i think Go-Daddy is paying someone to bother people till they pay for that extra protection.

I also began receiving tons of phone calls after hosting a new site through GoDaddy. I guess thats how they get ya to purchase the 7.99 private WHOIS reg. Just call and call and call and call.
