Scam under the guise of debt collection (Scam call) reported by


Seems to be some sort of debt collector, as they are not forthcoming with why they are calling. Even though my wife and I have pristine credit, I played along. I spoke to a female with a call center accent named "Dana Mayberry" (yeah, right) who said she is with Uniden and is trying to reach my wife regarding a personal matter. They wanted to verify her SS last 4, and I told them to tell me what they show. They refused. She started to get testy, as did I and she hung up. I called back several times and they hung up on me without speaking. They finally answered amd I advised them I wouldn't be sharing any personal or financial information with them over the phone, and until they could tell me who they were, the nature of their business and why they are calling in detail they can communicate with us strictly via the US mail.

Woman with accent called my cell and my grandmothers house number saying I missed court and was going to jail what she told my grandmother. I'm 40 so I was strange for them to know my grandmothers house number. I've never been in trouble so I was curious looked the number up found this site.

Jefferson Capital - unethical debt buyer and debt collector (Debt collector) reported by


They identified themselves as "Uniden," but they are a front for Jefferson Capital. Jefferson Capital is a bottom feeder debt buyer and collector that buys bad credit accounts for pennies on the dollar. They are unethical and will insist on payment even if your debt cant be enforced in court because of the statute of limitations or is too old to report to the credit reporting agencies. DO NOT ANSWER OR COOPERATE IN ANY WAY.

Didn’t answer the phone because my phone said “fraud risk” on the caller ID. After reading some of the reviews on here it seems to be a scam caller trying to get personal information.
