Pretends to be prisoner calling. I receive this identical call from half a dozen different numbers all in different states. They are simply building a marketing database. Replying or responding in any way benefits them.

Says it’s an inmate who has listed my number as a contact. It asks me if I am the authorized owner of this number and then wants me to state my full name after the beep. That’s it. There is NO OPTION to say no or remove yourself. These calls happen multiple times per day starting as early at 5 am. One morning I had 20 in a row!!

This was a friend of mine who was in prison and he had me on his caller list and I had to basically just verify that it was me! It is not a scam if you got the call and dont know who it is they probably just wrote the number down wrong.

An inmate that is incarcerated is calling. ONLY except if you know the person that states their name in the recording, if not just hang up. For me it was a person from my past who got caught up in the system.

Says it is from inmate - gives a different name each time -- and that it is acollect call & wants you to press buttons (never do that!) I did not answer, but the message is off my cell... This number started calling @ Sept 22nd 2019 and calls at least 2x day (have it blocked now). It says to accept a collect call from an inmate. Message had different Prison ??Systems' (like Tennessee, or Arizona... etc) - Then it says the inmate does not have funds and to press 1 to give some $ for inmate phone call -

This # has called me 6 times in 48 hours. The call starts as DOC inmate wants to add you to a list. They want you to give your name and confirm your number. Do not! If you hang up and call the number back it says congrats you won an alert now system. If you press 2 because you don't want it all of a sudden you won a vacation lol. Scammers do this to collect your info for the future to use against you. Just hang up!
