They left a sketchy recorded voicemail after I didn't answer the call. The voicemail said that I had committed fraud during my tax return ( which my tax return is being held right now because they thing it might be identity theft since I got divorced last year and filed this year under my maiden name again). Said if I didn't call back I could be arrested. Tried calling back but the call never started ringing, my phone just kept saying dialing!

Claimed to be an officer of the IRS, left his badge number and demanded I call back. I tried and no one answers.. same day I also got another call at my office from a similar number saying something about me being arrested. LMAO! IRS does not do this... what idiots.

I just received the same call which freaked me out for a second until I looked it up and found this. I had a similar call a couple months ago from a different place but that one was from an actual person. They didn't speak good English at all and couldn't even say my name correctly.

They left a message on my cell phone saying that if I don't call I will get arrested for taxes owed. When I called back they only responded: "thank you for calling, how can I help you?" First of all, I don't owe any taxes and government institution don't answer like that.

Similar numbers 97031513xx are already reported here with scam calls - fake IRS calls. Probably this one is the same case, same call center? I don't answer unknown numbers and they left no message. Have missed calls from them on my mobile, was trying to dig some info on the internet before calling them back, but found nothing, no luck. People pls did someone answer this number, who is it?

Yes, actually left a meassage FAKE IRS threat of legal action.

My caller was "OfficerTheresa" (couldn't catch the last name). She said she was from the U.S. Treasury. Call was conveniently garbled until the threat of being arrested.
