I answered a call, the caller ID showed it was from "Tom Naylor" at 802-878-9506. A man identifying himself as "Aaron Ramsey" with a thick Indian accent told me (at least, as far as I could decipher his speech) that he was part of my "security team," and that my computer was sending out signals to this "team," letting them know that there was a security breach on my computer and that I/my computer was/were in jeopardy. To ostensibly prove he was legit, he gave me a "computer license security ID#" and then began to talk me through the process of finding where this ID# was located on my computer. I was of course, suspicious of all this, and told him I needed info to verify his identity. He gave me the number 888-985-6070 to call to verify. He told me to ask for him by name. He told me to call on my cell phone, so he could wait for me to return. I told him I did not use a cell phone and had to use my landline and would have to phone him back. My husband, overhearing my end of this peculiar conversation, came into the room and told me just to hang up, because it was undoubtedly a scam (and I did). Then he (the scammer) phoned again, same caller ID # and name as above. My husband picked up, but there was "no one" on the other end, as soon as he/the scammer, heard a male voice. My husband put down the phone, it rang immediately again. My husband picked up again, this time the scammer spoke with my husband, and my husband probably may have confused him with some humorous repartee, in between which, my husband worked to get some information from him, such as, where he was, what time was it there, what was his name, etc. During their brief and o-so-funny (from my end!) conversation, my husband discovered that this person/scammer, knew HIS name, but apparently did not know mine. My husband eventually hung up on him, end of story. I have the phone off the hook at present, wondering if he will try to call back. He must have thought he had a "live one" with me!!!

Said his name was Edward from Virtual Technology Support. He was very aggressive and was scolding me for not taking him serious. Very thick accent. I asked for a call back number and he gave me 888-985-6070.

This is a computer hacker, spoke with a very thick accent said his name was L. T. a Microsoft specialist from a company named VT Support I asked him for a call back number he gave me 1-888-985-6070 (but the number he called from was 313-241-0524. He was trying to tell me that my computer had notified them that I was being hacked. Kept trying me all he wanted me to do was check files. After about 10 minutes I told him I knew he wanted to try to hack my computer and that I worked at a law firm in the IT dept. He called me an a__ whole and hung up.

They called and my 70 year old mother answered and was about to do what they wanted when i got online and asked what they wanted and who they were, said name was Edward Smith and my computer was very badly infected. I said my system was fine and to not call again. They called back immediately and will not listen when i say no, i don't need or want anything they have no matter what it is. They keep calling trying to get my mother online again. Very angry when i answered last time tried to convince me saying no was going to cost me money. I think they areupset that i stropped them before mom let them in.
