Two months ago I accidently downloaded a maleware that made me think I was infected and I called a number thinking it was MS. They conned me into giving control of my computer and they scanned it for info. Then they told me it would cost 500.00 for them to fix it and give me virus protection. I hung up and unplugged. Got my hard drive cleaned. Now I get this call saying they have been shut down and ordered to pay back whomever they called. The names have been kept a secret, but who else could this be? I got quite a few calls inbetween from a Tech who supposedly said my computer was still exposed and that I needed to call to let them fix it. So, I am pretty confident this is the same scammers or someone else who is piggybacking off the other con.
