For once they ARE WHAT THEY SAY. I signed up for TV show work as an 'extra' on a FB Form in a FB group. They ARE a talent agency using FB automated processes to send contacts. That is why the repeated contacts. The bots of the process just keep trying to reach you. They are legit, but a small shop so not sophisticated like the big guys.

3 or 4 Times a day they would text saying they were a talent agent trying to reach me for a zoom meeting, I blocked the number after a week or so

The texter try to convince me they were a talent agent but I could tell by the errors in the text message that it was a scam. The text written spoke as if it was someone from Africa (if you know what I mean)

this # has sent dozens of text messages. at first i thought they were legit. but no real talent agent would text you multiple times a day every day. i am not responding. ileft it as i really was not paying attention be aware !!!!

Impersonating a real Casting Company (Scam call) reported by


Pretend to be Backstage.com and to setup a casting time on March 18th only, ask for phone number to continue, then take you to a webpage that says they are not affiliated in any way with Backstage.com and they don't work with them. Then they send 2 texts, every day, trying to get a reply to setup an audition time, for an audition they are not affiliated with, even today, 15 days after the audition was over. I will not reply to this impending scam.

Thank you for the easy-to-understand explanation. I knew it wasn't as simple as a real talent agency sending out invitations to random people without even having headshots or any knowledge of the individual. This is a scam oh, they may have some sort of 'Talent Agency' DBA or LLC in some state or possibly registered biz in another country. Either way, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! Go audition for a part in a local play. Then audition somewhere else, repeat.
