Received a call from this number, they left no message. I called the M&T Bank Customer Service line and they stated that number is not one of theirs and on the rare occasions they initiate a call, they always leave a message.

They gave me a courtesy call regarding a credit card I got approved for a week ago (I haven't received it yet). I gave them my first and last name like they asked (they didn't need anything else, thankfully) and they reminded me about the 0% APR for the first few months. If this was a scam, then I'm not sure what the point of it was since it was more or less a courtesy call as they didn't request that I purchase any services or whatever. I also can't imagine a scammer requiring absolutely nothing other than my full name. I'm still concerned, however.

Recording knew my bank name, person knew my name (Telemarketer) reported by


When I answered, a message including my bank's name indicated that a telemarketers was not available and I should call back at 866-877-1753... but I waited a minute and a person with an Indian accent answered and stated my full name immediately. It's either very suspicious legitimate marketing from my bank, or my bank information was leaked to a thinly veiled scam.

It was an Indian calling saying welcome for joining M&T Banks which I've been joined 3 years ago. I hanged up the phone on 36-or 39 secs. Dont trust!
