Called 10 minutes ago. Upon answering I was connected to what sounded like a room full of people. I said hello after a few seconds the hung up never saying anything. This is strange because this was my business number.

Scam to lower student debt from made-up institution. (Scam call) reported by


Called 2x within same minute. Did not answer either call due to my warning it might be a spam call. And indeed it was. They left a voicemail offering to reduce student loan debt, but provided erroneous information for a company/institute that doesn't exist. From reading other comments, they also are trying to scam people without student loan debt. BOTTOM LINE: do not give them any information, just ignore the call and block the number.

Caller said they were from Social Security and that my SS# had been suspended because of suspicious activity. When I asked them about it they needed my name and then asked me to hold. I asked them where they were calling from and they hung up. Be careful seniors, don't give them ANY information. I'm sure SS# would never ask for info if they are the ones who call you. Always let whoever calls know you will call SS yourself. DON'T give them info. The number they used was 888-815-00xx.
