This is a very much a live SCAM alert number. these people are pros and they're posing as Bank of America representation as a debt collector. DO NOT give these people any information about your account or your DOB or even your SS. As other people have stated in their previous statements they called and left multiple messages during the Thanksgiving holidays on my work phone and I'm my cell phone. initially I ignored them but I just kept on calling just for sanity check purposes. I double checked the Bank of America website for initial problems with our accounts flags were cleared,so I kept ignoring them and they kept calling. I was about 99% sure these were scam artists but I wanted to find out as much information as I could about them so I did call them back and they are very very good phishing and social engineering artist. I went back and forth with him for about 20 minutes trying to trip them up too and divulging information about themselves long story short they got frustrated and hung up. I took it one step further and went to my local branch just for a triple sanity check and had them verify the account through their system. The two Yahoo's who that said that this was a safe number is full of crap this is not a safe number. this number is on Bank of America's list and from what we can tell this number originates from overseas without a MAC address there's no way to tell without 100% also if you get a call from this number you need to report them to not only to your local bank branch but to the BBB bureau. The other number that is associated with this number is 1 800-536-1568, 1 800 310-5587. As always if the number is not part of your contacts don't answer them research them if possible and then block'em.

Scammer pretending to be from Bank of America (Scam call) reported by


The call came from 877-404-6550, but they said to return the call to 888-800-9030. Neither of these phone numbers were listed anywhere on Bank of America's website or the back of my debit and credit cards with them. I've transcribed the voicemail below. The message is very vague, and the office hours are exceedingly odd. There's no way this actually came from Bank of America. "Hello, this message is for *** ****. This is Amanda Davison calling from Bank of America. It is very important that we receive a call back as soon as possible in order to discuss a servicing matter as well as some different options we have that may benefit you. Please return my call to 888-800-9030. Our office is open until midnight Easter time tonight. Again, that number is 888-800-9030. Thank you and we look forward to speaking with you."

First call sounded totally phony, as my easy name was badly butchered in the recording. Today's recording was much better spoken. Have no trust in these kinds of calls. Call back number was 888-800-90xx ~ did NOT call back.
