This scammer (India? Credit Card Rates?) may seem to be hanging up after you first answer. This happens when you wait a few seconds for a response. The robo telemarketer system that called your number will, like 99% of the robo telemarketing systems calling people, wait for you to say "Hello?" a 2nd time before transferring you to a person in the boiler room. Then the Indian(?) person is scrambling to find and pronounce your English name. I have yet to hear my name prounced correctly, although it is popular in the US. Just never say hello that 2nd time. Let the robo thing hang up. FYI: The boiler room is the room crammed full of people with headaets on, all trying to work their scam on folks by following scripts to responses...even negative responses. Their pcs have a scripts for any reason given to not use their credit reduction rate. I even had one telemarket lady wait while I went to the potty...just to see if she would! She did! If you forget what I just said, and said hello again, and have your scammer starting that script, but you still want to be polite...tell them you have their company's name, are officially asking for them to never call you or to give or sell your name/number to another company and are now hanging up. That is if you are patient. Because your response will be a new trigger for a script to which you will need to again say you are hanging up. (That is for my grandma. She is polite to everyone.) My personal favorite response was handing over the phone to my 2 1/2 year son. He patiently listened to the scripts, knew when he needed to grunt a response and did not catch the foul words the telemarketer said once said telemarketer realized he had been scammed back. And my son was thrilled! We have repeated this ruse many times. Funny thing, those companies never called me back...hmmm...

Calling to say "car warranty has expired" and this is a "final notice" - scam to get credit card information.

This was fun to answer and get a live person. I've found that holding down the star key or the zero key for a full 60 seconds makes me feel better.
