Scam call pretending to be Google (Scam call) reported by


Got a call from this number claiming to be Google representatives and that my business listing had been removed due to not answering a robo call. They asked me a bunch of current business info regarding my business that is non critical, but did need to be updated. After "updating" my listing they hit me with the "$99 to reinstate my listing" line. I told him I'm refusing to pay any reinstatement fee as there was no such agreement made ever. "Jordan" told me to google it so I did. There is no reinstatement fee. His "manager" came on the line and basically said the same thing and demanded I make the payment over the phone and that it was totally secure. They absolutely refused to send me a bill in the mail or even an email. Called them out on the scam and hung up. Contacted Google directly and they said there is no such reinstatement fee.

Caller instisted not a scam but asking for 99.00 to keep me first on local google searches. Name of 'Manager' was Lance Andre. Gave number as 888-726-4470 ext, 7826. Said text of code I get on phone is a google verification code and it says it came from Washington. But number on display showed only 22000. I did not pay anything.

Basically saying if you aren't paying $99USD with them (aka "Google Marketing") then your business not be verified. GOOGLE WILL NEVER CALL YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION. THEY WILL ONLY SEND YOU A POSTCARD. DO NOT FALL FOR THEM.

This was a scam call claiming to be Google and saying that because we didn't respond to a robo call in January confirming we were still active that we had to pay $99 or they would shut down our account.

They call originated from India. They claim that they are calling regarding the inactivity of my Business listing. They further went on to tell me that they are calling and I did not answer the phone, so they want to verify some information and wanted my cell phone number to send me a text. Their phone number was out of Texas and it was 3614374533. When I said I was not going to give out my personal cell number he hung up on me.

This is their callback number given, not the original calling number. Claim to be 'from Google' and wanted $99 maintenance fee to Verify my listing. I usually dismiss these type of calls, but "LANCE" was pretty convincing. - I did not pay the fee but called later "Go Marketing" is their company. - If I lose any listings, or find this to a legit call, I WILL REPORT BACK...

Asked to speak to owner or manager, (specific names). Said they needed to verify hours and get special verification code. And may need to pay finance fees for google account to show on google search engine. lol nice try

The people at this number claim they are from Google headquarter. and they are calling people who have used "Google My Business". they call and say that your listing will be removed unless you are verified and pay $ 99.00 for continuation fees for 2 years. they are able to access all of your Google My Business settings and even give you a Google Service Licence #. I called Google (another #) and they clearly say that Google does not solicit calling people for any money. This is a Scam #. these people also gave me another # 650 253 0000 Please beware from this.
