This number claiming to be Aetna was nowhere to be found on their official website, but they left a voicemail requesting a call back with a case number. After calling an official Aetna number out of precaution and handing over my insurance info and said case number, they couldn't trace it to anything in their system.

Apparently pre authorization info for mri, cat scan, etc., not any one insurance company but an outsourcer that works for many insurance companies. I don't know this first hand but from online reviews, some of which say it's a scam and others say it's legit, but it appears likely though not guaranteed legit to me.

Demanded that I call this number and enter a 9-digit code. Said that it concerned Aetna Insurance. My wife called Aetna and the person at Aetna had no idea what it was about. This has all the hallmarks of a scam.

I have exaxt same experience. Got a robo call from "Aetna Health Management" with 9 digit case number, called back and robo wanted date of birth so I hung up. Called Aetna directly and they had no idea what that was about.

Called my house. Caller ID said "EVICORE". Robocall asking for my husband by name, about some prescription. I can't believe all the positive ratings -- because Nomorobo.com's website has a recording and transcript. Similar type of call to what we got. Only in that case it was "Digma" (their voice AI stuff needs some improvement, and I suspect it was supposed to be Sigma). The one we got? No ID as to company in the robocall itself. I see here that the comments say it's Aetna. My husband said "Yes" when the call asked if it was him (which was dumb on his part -- I would have said "Who's calling?" -- just to mess with their system). But then he hung up and said they are only supposed to be calling him on his cellphone, not the landline.

Patient is asked for the case number and DOB. Have to ask to speak to agent to obtain authorization number if procedure approved.
