Caller from 530-201-4062 left message, said his name was William calling about an intercept report, from Structured Settlements. Said something was returned from the bank and sternly said they take that seriously and I should call back at 888=555-2112. His number said Redding CA, the 888 number is in Henderson NV. Never said my name, what the item was or the amount or the bank. I have no returned bank items and did not call back.

I received a voicemail stating the callers name was Samantha from Structured Settlement and they were calling in regards to an automatic withdrawal that was to be made from my checking account and they needed to confirm I am the individual that authorized this along with additional information. I did search for the company reference and no debt collector that I can find goes by Structured Settlement. My name was never included in the voicemail. It was scripted and the voice on the line sounded much like an AI was reading the script, which is clearly a new tactic being used. Overall when you call them back you will be asked to verify banking information. That is a means to obtain posing as a debt collector and threatening legal action if you do not provide. By law you have a right to demand in writing a copy of the original transaction or debt before you arrange for any payment of said debt. If you ask for this and are denied, that is your answer to is it a scam. Hang up. They will use scare tactics, social engineering ect to gain trust or intimidate, don't allow it simply disengage and end the call.

He called and said I owe $700+ dollars for a debt or he will take legal measures and he told me my old address and stuff but I don't believe he's a real debt collector. He said I have two days to pay him $200 or legal matters will be in play. Says something about checks bouncing? Which never happened. I'm confused.
