they keep calling my cell and its a recording looking to speak to my ex-husband, for whom I haven't been married to in 20 years. The call tells me there is some pending legal case and I need to contact them. Gives me a case number and some phone number to call.. this has to be scam.. no way am I calling them back.

Threatened to file in local court pending an Social Security matter "that is going to court". Then the file number was not given as a court documented number for my local jurisdiction. It was for BLM jurisdiction. This "Phillip Norman" /"Head Arbitraitor" calls quite regularly and from different numbers. I have more than ten numbers blocked for now and am at maximum capacity to do any more. The Social Security matter doesn't exist. I've asked S.S.

ARG and Associates violating FDCPA (Debt collector) reported by


Received a voice mail from "head arbitrator Phillip Norman with ARG and Associates" claiming that they would be filing a "motion with the county clerk's office". They try to state that the voice mail serves as an "official notification" of a need to settle the matter "out of court". A few problems with this: -The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act does not allow a debt collector to threaten legal action without intent to pursue; reputable collectors, therefore, rarely mention such action on the phone and instead deliver such information via physical means (see #3) -Unless the debt collector can be certain that the phone number is only accessible to the individual (usually requiring written or verbal authorization by the debtor), leaving information regarding a debt or anything related to it on voice mail is also violation of the FDCPA -Most state laws do not allow notification of a pending suit via telephone, but require that such paperwork be either mailed certified or served in person (depending on the state and type of case)

I keep getting this same call. They are calling members of my family. How to stop this?

I just got a call too and found out they called multiple family members yesterday. I was shaking and in tears thinking someone stole my identity and I would have to go to court to prove it. After speaking with my mother, she informed me it's a scam and they just wanted my bank info.
