Called and said "is this A?" It was indeed my name so I said yes, and they said they're calling from Bell Canada and asked me to verify my identity by stating my birthday. I asked them why they're calling but they kept repeating that they need to verify me first to tell me what they're calling about. I told them I don't have a way for me to confirm they're calling from Bell and they said I can call customer service back then but didn't tell me what number to call or any reference number. Called bell customer service who confirmed they're fraud lines

The person knew my name, so I said yes speaking. Then they proceeded to tell me where they're calling from, but their voice was very quiet. I asked to say it louder, and the third time I asked, the person just hung up. Rude as heck. Probably not an important call, but I live in constant fear of messing up calls from important places like medical clinics/hospitals due to my auditory processing problems.

The person started with 'Hi, how are you?', then asked to verify my mailing address. After that I asked why they needed my address, the answer was - there is important message from Bell but they cannot pass it to me unless they verify my identity, and asked for my date of birth. The person was very insistent that I give the info but refused to elaborate what the important message was about. When I said I was not giving any personal info over the phone unless I know what it is for, they told me to call customer service.

They called me everyday for 5 days. When i did answer, noone was there. When I tried calling back, I got an automated recording saying it was Bell but I have dealt with Bell and knew it was not.

Several calls claiming to be Bell asking me to verify my address (Nuisance call) reported by


During one call that I answered, I told them that I had called my bell center and they verified that the number was not one of Bell's. I told them that my account was 100% up to date and that if they had something to say to mail me a letter and I refused to to give information over the phone.... one of the giveaways of the calls is that many phone numbers were prefixed with two 1's instead of a single 1, from past experience I suspected that it was either overseas or being rerouted.

888-312-5053 is a fraud operation impersonating Bell Canada. Talked to Bell and this is a well-known, long running scam fraud outfit that no one seems able to stop. Ignore, give them no info, NEVER call them back.
