"AFNI" came thru the caller ID on my cell phone! (Telemarketer) reported by


Received call two different times this morning from this number, 3 hours apart. It is strange that the "AFNI" showed up on my screen of my cell phone, as names never show on my cell phone, unless they are in my contact list, which this number and AFNI are obviously not. Maybe that is a new feature from my cell phone provider, AT&T?

Debt collector reported by


Somehow gathered information from a legitimate debt I had owed that I paid off in 2017. Was able to cite the hospital I had owed to, and insisted they were collecting accrued interest, but could not provide any account number, total dollar amount, and wasn't willing to provide a paper bill. Called the party I had owed and they were able to confirm that I was paid in full, and no longer owed. These are SCAMMERS posing as DEBT COLLECTORS using gleaned information. ALWAYS CALL THE INSTITUTIONS YOU KNOW before providing any information on calls like these.
