Told me there was a warrant for my arrest and that I owed taxes. (Scam call) reported by


Seems to be a genuine number but the person who called me indicated they were from the IRS and that there were warrants for my arrest. I have gotten this similar call and told the person to remove me from their mailing list and that I am reporting this number and blocking it. The number itself seems legit but ultimately the calls are not.

The number showed as coming from US Government. The man said his name was Anthony Preston and he sounded Asian. He said I was going to be deported for tax evasion. I told him I was not because I didn't owe taxes and he repeated the threat. I asked where he was phoning from and what his ID number was and he ignored these questions. I told him I didn't believe he was phoning from the US Govt and he then sank into making further threats and I hung up. The phone calls then came over and over for a few minutes. This is definitely harassment.

They told me police would be at my home to arrest me if I didn’t give them my SS# and a credit card to settle. I told them if they were truly the IRS they would have my SS#. They have called me so many times which have turned into them calling me names. And that America’s are so stupid. It has really become harassment at this point. S

Caller claims to be IRS collecting officer. Tells you that you have unpaid taxes and an arrest warrant had been issued. Makes you buy gift cards from Best Buy or Wal-Mart and give them the numbers over the phone.

Arrest Threat for foreign transactions which god knows who did :P (Scam call) reported by


I received a call from 877-777-4778. I was asked whether i am at home or work, I was told to go to a place where no one is around me to listen. Then they said i did some foreign transactions and did not pay the required taxes within 72 hours. There was a lady talking to me. She said police is coming to my house to arrest me. I doubted this as a scam and said 'OK' to her and then she said, you can go back to your original place. When I searched on google, this number showed as a valid IRS number but then along with it a long list of sites where people filed complaints against this number and reported this as a phishing scam. I believe this most certainly is (Hoping cops don't show up at my doorstep in next 24-48 hours).
