Debt collector, asking for a ridiculous amount on a previously thought to be closed account/issue. Inquired of company name, and found it on google. They may be real, but the debt was never near that amount and paid long ago.

Scammers asking about credit (Scam call) reported by


My father got a call from someone with a foreign accent asking all kinds of questions about his credit history. I only caught the tail end of the call, but called back the same number and they said they were from citi (not citibank or citicard or citifinancial or whatever, just citi). They said that they are citibank and didn't call us and that they have had problems with spoofers cloning their numbers. Called citibank's customer service number. They said that it's all bs.
